Also known as the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) flagship program for MSMEs with select Retail Partners, Go Lokal! is a marketing platform provided for free to the country’s MSMEs for market incubation and brand testing and realized through the Go Lokal! Concept Store at DTI located at the Trade and Industry Building, Makati City.

With its success in the domestic market, Go Lokal! Philippines will bring to Japan an exciting range of lifestyle products from twenty-seven (27) Philippine social enterprises.

From accent furniture, home décor to high end fashion accessories, Go Lokal! Philippines will showcase original creations “born” in the Philippines, all designed to blend the traditional beauty of Philippine materials with the modern functionality of Japanese design sensibility.

Each Philippine product reflects a devotion to integrating natural elements into a modern setting with focus on loose, uneven forms and traditional natural materials: glass, metal, wood, coconut coir, shells, pearls and water hyacinth among others. The products are novel, yet authentic, cool and modern, synonymous with quality and social responsibility, allowing the Japanese to discover a New Philippines through a variety of textures, patterns, astonishing materials and good design.

Introducing a new perspective to Philippine products are two Product Specialists commissioned from opposite sides of the world to create a collective that intermingles Philippine culture with the Japanese’ love for simplicity and the West’s fascination with color and textures.

In collaboration with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center Tokyo (PTIC-Tokyo), Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) and Nohara Holdings, there will be a series of promotional activities of Go Lokal! to be undertaken for the month of November 2018 in the following exhibit venues, namely:
