PH Food Products Shine at SIAL Middle East 2018

RIYADH 08 January 2018 – Ten Philippine companies were in Abu Dhabi to exhibit in Salon International de l’alimentation (SIAL) 2018 held from 10 to 12 December 2018 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), Abu Dhabi.

Among them were Alenter Food, Inc., Alter Trade, Audrey’s Confectioneries, GCB Food Products, Ilocos Food Products, JNRM Corporation, JPM Eco Farm Inc., Feb20 Enterprises/ Mandaue Nutritious, Pasciolco Agri Ventures, and T.P. Food Processing Corporation.

During the event, the Philippines won SIAL’s Innovation Award for the first time.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, and Patron of SIAL Middle East, visited the 54-square meter Philippine pavilion under the banner, “Food Philippines”.

During the visit of Sheikh Mansour, Ambassador to the UAE Hjayceelyn M. Quintana presented the Philippine exhibitors and the new products from the country, including top and halal-certified trade goods such as coconut products and other by-products, banana and sweet potato chips, polvoron, sugarcane products, organic tea and capsule, coffee, flavorings and syrup, muscovado sugar, and bottled goods.

The SIAL Innovation prizes are awarded to those who help shape what people eat both today and in the future. It provides an excellent opportunity to showcase new and innovative food and beverage products to the Middle East market. JNRM Corporation’s Instayum Mushroom Chips won this year’s SIAL Middle East Innovation Bronze Award for reinventing mushroom into a tasty and nutritious snack.

Now on its ninth edition, SIAL Middle East continues to be one of the fastest growing international tradeshows for food and beverage, and hospitality sectors in the region. The event was participated by more than 1,000 exhibitors, 34 national pavilions, and attended by more than 20,000 visitors and buyers.
